Polymers useful for gene therapy
Researchers from University of Basque Country have discovered that a natural polymer from crustaceans, called oligoquitosans, is able to transport DNA to the nucleus of cells and affect tumor cells.
Using particles of these crustacean polymers, DNA molecules can be transported, both large and small, so that biological components that affect tumor cells can be synthesized and can also treat diseases of the central nervous system.
